About

PettlerWorks Architecture

At PettlerWorks Architecture, we are dedicated to client-driven design, focusing on custom residential projects, renovations, additions, accessory dwelling units (ADUs), small commercial spaces, and tiny homes. Our goal is to meet the evolving needs of a growing destination city.

We believe that a timeless project is derived from excellence in design, the client’s vision, superior craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of the project’s site and local materials. This thoughtful approach—considering how we live, interact with, and impact our environment both now and in the future—allows us to leave a lasting architectural legacy.

Our design philosophy is rooted in tradition, where familiar forms like the shape of a roofline, window proportions, and natural building materials harmonize with clean, uncluttered lines, open, light-filled rooms, and spaces designed for modern living.

Given the unique topographic challenges in the mountains of Western North Carolina, each project is site-specific. We integrate the house with its site, rather than forcing the site to conform to the house. We strategically capture views from living spaces, calculate sun angles, and leverage solar pathing to maximize passive solar gain and optimize photovoltaic cell placement.

As architects, our role is to attentively listen to our clients’ needs, filter that information, and then apply our experience and knowledge to transform their ideas into beautiful designs. We look forward to working with you!
