Modern Makeover
This project involved the revitalization of an older stone and brick home, purchased by a young family who appreciated its historic charm despite previous unfortunate updates. Our goal was to restore its original character and enhance its functionality.

We began by revealing the beautiful old-growth floor joists, which were left exposed to complement the existing wood flooring. Many rooms were reconfigured to optimize storage and improve the flow of the living spaces.
On the exterior, we opted for a preservation approach, cleaning the existing structure and removing minor additions. The rear porch was refinished and covered, and the only significant alteration was the addition of a large front-facing dormer. This dormer increased the upstairs space, creating a much-needed fourth bedroom. Throughout the home, we uncovered and highlighted whimsical nooks and crannies, adding unique character to the bedrooms.
